Well today took an interesting turn, instead of enjoying a nice Sunday Brunch somewhere fun I spent the day with my sister at Gilbert Mercy Hospital. She had the misfortune of running into broken picture frames glass and managed to end up with over 20 stitches in her thigh. Having skipped lunch I went to the cafeteria and enjoyed a Vegetable Lasagna with Potatoes Au Gratin for a whopping $2.95!!! Beats a Big Mac :)

Liberty Market- Gilbert, AZ
I enjoyed the new restaurant/market in downtown Gilbert, Liberty Market. It was such a lovely surprise. We enjoyed homemade minestrone soup, with lots of vegetables and was topped with pesto for a really great garlic taste. We also enjoyed a really yummy turkey sandwich, with green apple, caramelized pecans, gorgonzola and a really unassuming roasted red pepper aioli. The "Liberty Bowl" was a treat, with four huge roasted meatballs that were perfect for sharing. My favorite of the meal was their Caprese Pasta Salad. It was super simple, the basics of a Caprese and I couldn't get enough. We ended the meal with a rice crispy bar and a chocolate truffle cookie. I can't wait to go back, they have a good size wine list featuring my very favorite Muscato, and Red Velvet cake that looks like sliced heaven! And they are starting a full breakfast menu next week. The staff was very friendly and the patio was great for enjoying the weather.
